Overview
Catherine the Great's palace complex along the Neva, six buildings including the Winter Palace. Over 3 million items: Rembrandt to Matisse, Scythian gold, the Peacock Clock, and two of Leonardo's Madonnas. The cats of the Hermitage have guarded the galleries from rodents since the 18th century.
