Wallace Collection
Overview
Hertford House in Manchester Square displays the treasures assembled by four Marquesses of Hertford and Sir Richard Wallace, bequeathed to the nation by Lady Wallace in 1897. It is famous for French 18th century painting and furniture, Sevres porcelain, and one of Britain's finest collections of arms and armour. Frans Hals's Laughing Cavalier and Fragonard's The Swing hang in its period rooms.
