Overview
The oldest Egyptian museum in the world after Cairo, built on the 1824 purchase of the Drovetti collection. The Turin King List, the intact tomb of Kha and Merit, the Ellesija temple rescued from Lake Nasser, and the Rock Temple of Ellesiya. Its papyrus map collection is the world's second largest.
