Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
Overview
Opened in 1955 in Kenzo Tange's Peace Memorial Park, near the hypocenter of the atomic bomb dropped on 6 August 1945. Exhibits include melted roof tiles, a child's charred tricycle, and the shadow of a person burned into the stone steps of a bank. It documents the city before and after the bombing and campaigns for the abolition of nuclear weapons.
